![]() ![]() Quick note when you open the game with the texture pack enabled, it automatically makes a HTS file in the cache folder. Ig maybe I have to unzip it directly into that directory (RetroArch/system/mupen64plus) instead of copy and pasting? Ig it carried over SOME textures cuz it WORKED!!! Sort of.again weird. But windows pops up a message while moving the folder over saying, "path is too long". I tried creating a folder in that directory called 'hires_texture' and moving the texture pack containing all of the png files to it. Just don't know what to name it for RetroArch to know how to grab from it. (I know it says Xbox but it's also for RetroArch) and he has a file called 'hires_texture' in the same directory (RetroArch/system/mupen64plus) so kinda not sure where to go from here cuz I'm pretty sure THATS the folder I need to create. I'm guessing I'd have to create one.I found a video: But there's no folder called "HD textures folder". I downloaded from another source and got a folder containing a lot of other folders named 'actors, monster, etc' that contained png files which looks to be more correct for an actual texture "pack". I also tried doing what the video says (putting the HTC/HTS file into the cache folder but it did nothing). If someone can make a video on this and send a link lol that would be awesome□ I also saw that some of these might be for the 3Ds so just making sure they'll work for the N64 emulators. What is the process of downloading these texture packs for RetroArch, if that's possible.p.s I hope this doesn't wipe my saved games*** Which one of these texture packs would be best in your guys opinion? Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D 4K Texture Pack Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - N64 Texture Packs Will they work on RetroArch? Or would I have to get a specific emulator to use them? There's a couple of sites I found that I'll list here: How do I download the texture packs.I'm using RetroArch and I don't know if these only work for a specific emulator or not. I just never downloaded and used texture packs before and have a couple of questions. Play it with sound turned up high and you’ll have a treat for your ears as well.Hello I'm trying to find where's the best place I can download texture packs for Ocarina of Time for an N64 emulator. It’s very fun to play and nice to look at. I recommend this game to anyone that likes adventure games. Minor plot twists abound although the story can still be summarized as “Save the princess, save the world.” There is a much larger supporting cast than in LttP and they all receive a lot more characterization than in LttP. While LttP had an expansive story, this game made it more prominent. It felt like there could have been more here. There are barely any enemies in Hyrule Field and when there are, it’s at only the beginning of the game. Nowadays, the graphics for this game are less impressive and the world actually feels very dead at times. I remember as a kid, back in 1998, getting out of Kokiri Forest and having my eyes just pop out at how expansive Hyrule Field is. The graphics were, for its time, amazing. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone played the Imperial March with it. People have actually used it to play different songs, such as the Kakariko Theme. Not only are the music pieces great and moody, but there’s even an item in-game that let’s you play music. ![]() ![]() And the soundtrack! The title promises that a musical instrument would be important to the game, and it makes good on that promise. Many creatures in the world make different sounds. You can’t control Epona while also using your bow, so you might often find yourself being galloped towards a wall, while the Poe you’re hunting taunts you and your dumb beast (but then again, I can’t imagine anyone controlling a horse and aiming an arrow at the same time). There are some limitations: you can’t move around while aiming, although if you use Z-Targeting, you can still strafe around. The camera is rarely ever an issue and Link moves and acts as you’d expect him to. I don’t know what game actually came up with the “Z-Targeting” technique, but this is the one that popularized, and for good reason. It’s beautiful and worthy of being called a masterpiece, although this is also where story takes precedence over adventuring and so linearity begins to become more prominent. It was also the game that transitioned the franchise into the realm of 3D polygons and the one game everyone seems to remember when “Zelda” is uttered. If A Link to the Past was a refinement of the first Zelda, then Ocarina of Time was refinement of LttP. ![]()
